Application to primary 2019

Parents and Carers can login to their accounts from 00:01 on Tuesday 16th April to view their offer of a school place for September 2019. Emails will be sent to all online applicants overnight and parents who made a paper application will receive a letter detailing their place offer from Tuesday 16th April.

  • Please note: The names of all children who have been unsuccessful in gaining a place at a preference school are automatically placed on the waiting list for the school and those lists are ranked by the school’s oversubscription criteria. For Halton primary schools you do not need to formally accept an offer of a school place and will be contacted by the offered primary school within the next few weeks. For primary schools in other local authorities please consult the policy for those areas.

Parents and Carers can login to their accounts from 00:01 on Friday 1st March to view their offer of a school place for September 2019. Emails will be sent to all online applicants overnight and parents who made a paper application will receive a letter detailing their place offer from Friday 1st March.

​Parents and carers of Year 6 children (born between 01/09/2007 and 31/08/2008) living in Halton are invited to apply for a secondary school place in September 2019.

The deadline to apply for a secondary school place in September 2019, Wednesday 31st October 2018, has now passed and the online application service is now closed for Secondary applications. If you have not yet made an application for your child please read the Secondary Booklet (below) and then submit a paper application form (below) at your earliest opportunity. Paper application forms can also be obtained from any of the Halton Direct Link Offices.​

APPLICATION TO PRIMARY 2019

Parents and carers of pre-school children (born between 01/09/2014 and 31/08/2015) living in Halton are invited to apply for a primary school place in September 2019. The deadline to apply for a primary school place in September 2019, Tuesday 15th January 2019, has now passed and the online application service is now closed for applications. If you have not made an application for your child yet please read the Primary Booklet (below) and then submit a paper application form (below) at your earliest opportunity. Paper application forms can also be obtained from any of the Halton Direct Link Offices. If you do not live in Halton but wish to make an application for a Halton school you should contact your home local authority to do so.

PREPARING YOUR CHILD FOR SCHOOL

To help you in getting your child ready for school Halton has an Early Years Strategy and has also prepared a booklet with guidance on how to prepare your child for school and how to get support from birth up to five years old, The Early Years Newborn to 5 Years Booklet.

HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL DETERMINED ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS AND CO-ORDINATED SCHEMES FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2019 INTAKE

In accordance with statutory requirements Halton Local Authority consulted between 9th October and 17th November 2017 on its proposed admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools, and co-ordinated primary and secondary admission schemes which apply to all schools in Halton for the September 2019 intake. At a meeting held on 18th January 2018 the Council’s Executive Board agreed the arrangements and a link to the determined arrangements is attached below:

Voluntary Aided Schools and Academy/Free Schools who intend amending their arrangements may be undertaking their own consultation and you should visit the school’s website where those details should be available for viewing.

​DETERMINATION OF SCHOOL ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2020 INTAKE​

​Following consultation, at the Council’s Executive Board meeting held on 17th January 2019, the Executive Board determined for the September 2020 intake the admission arrangements, Coordinated Schemes for Primary and Secondary Schools in Halton, and Published Admission Numbers for community and voluntary controlled schools in Halton, for which the Local Authority is the Admission Authority.  The determined arrangements are attached below:
Anyone who wishes to object to the determined arrangements must do so to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator and any objections must be referred to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator​ by 15th May 2019.
