Application to Secondary 2023
National Offer Day for Secondary 2023 is 1st March 2023. Emails and letters will be sent on the day and you can also
login to your online account to view your offeron Wednesday 1st March 2023.
(Offer emails will be sent during normal office hours. For those who applied by paper form, letters will be posted on 1st March and may take a few days to arrive)

If you haven’t applied already, please complete the Late Secondary 2023 Application Form. If you have applied and wish to submit a new preference, please email
email@example.com with your child’s name, date of birth and the new preference school(s). All new preferences received by
10th March 2023 will be considered together and outcomes will be communicated by post following the outcome (please allow 10 days for the letter to reach you). You may find it useful to look at the Secondary 2023 Summary for information regarding vacancies before submitting new preferences.
Application to Primary 2023
Applications are now open for parents/carers of
children born between 01/09/2018 and 31/08/2019 wishing to make an application for their child to start Primary School in September 2023.
deadline for Primary 2023 applications was Sunday 15th January 2023 and has now passed.
Parents/carers wishing to make an application are now required to complete the
Late Primary Application Form 2023 or you can visit any of the Halton Direct Link Offices to request one. Forms can also be obtained by emailing

Requests to educate outside of normal age group
For parents of summer-born children (those born between April 1st and August 31st), wishing to make a formal request to educate their child outside of their normal age group (i.e. they start Reception class in 2024 instead of 2023), please complete and return this Defer Primary Application form to firstname.lastname@example.org before the deadline of 15th January 2023. You should read the DfE guidance Summer Born Children: Starting School – Advice for Parents before making your decision.
Your preference school(s) will be contacted and a decision will be made in the best interests of the child at the earliest opportunity

HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL DETERMINED ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS AND COORDINATED SCHEMES FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2024
Following consultation, the Council’s Executive Board at the meeting held on 19th January 2023 determined the admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools in Halton, and the Coordinated Schemes for both Primary and Secondary schools for the September 2024 intake which apply to all primary and secondary schools in Halton.
Should you wish to object to the arrangements, objections must be made to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator by 15th May 2023. A link to the OSA website is here:

HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL DETERMINED ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS AND CO-ORDINATED SCHEMES FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2023 INTAKE
Following statutory consultation that ran from 1st October to 12th November 2021 the Council’s Executive Board approved the proposed admission arrangements for LA maintained community and voluntary controlled primary schools and co-ordinated admissions scheme for all Halton primary schools for the September 2023 intake, together with the co-ordinated admissions scheme for all Halton secondary schools for the September 2023 intake, at the meeting held on 20th January 2022.
