Planning forms
These application forms are here for you to use as an alternative to the electronic methods of submitting a planning application. You are free to download the forms, print, fill out and either scan to email dev.control@halton.gov.uk or post to the Planning Department, Municipal Building, Widnes, WA8 7QF.
Please pay attention to the requirements of the accompanying checklist found in each planning form. If your application is deficient to the set requirements your application will be considered invalid. You must use the help text and validation checklist for each form to ensure you have filled it in correctly and have attached the right supporting information. When applying for planning permission using a downloaded form you can pay by cheque or pay online .

Methods Of Applying For Planning Permission That Require An External Service Fee
As of the 10th September 2018 all applications submitted through the Planning Portal that command a nationally set administrative fee per application to use the
Planning Portal service.
In order to enforce this fee the Planning Portal have implemented measures to prevent you making direct payment to the Council. Please note that the Planning Portal is a third party system provided independently of the Council for the submission of Planning and Building Regulations Applications and is therefore not governed by the Council in any way.

Terms of Service
As of 22nd June 2018 if a registered application remains invalid for a period of 28 days or greater, the Council will retain a portion of the application fee to cover the administrative costs incurred. Every attempt will be made to contact the applicant or agent to ensure validation can be completed within the 28 day period before any charge is applied. Please see the fees below:
- Householder, advertisement and prior notification applications - £25
- Minor and similar applications - £50
- Major and similar complex applications - £250
For circumstances outside of the applicants control it may be possible to extend the validation period but this will require prior consultation with the planning department. Anybody wishing to apply for planning permission is strongly advised to use the Councils'
pre application advice service.
