No symptoms Covid-19 testing – our service for local businesses

As lockdown eases and more businesses are able to re-open, encouraging staff and customers to take part in regular ‘no symptoms’ lateral flow tests will play an important part in being able to offer Covid safe services and to help prevent a further return to restrictions. The vaccination programme alone will not be enough to beat Covid-19. We need to continue to use testing and following good hygiene practices, wearing face masks and keeping to social distancing rules so that we can return to all of the people and things we love sooner.

We are pleased to offer a range of testing services for local businesses to enable regular (ideally twice a week) testing of staff. All services are free to the business although some do require a relatively small amount of time/management to introduce. Our team are on hand to offer support and guidance to make the process as quick and easy as possible.

Free tests are now being made available in a number of ways including:

  • Workplace testing – many larger companies are already providing in-house testing for their staff. This is where an area is designated for testing with the tests done at work with staff facilitating the process and reporting results.   • Workplace ‘Community Collect’ – this is where a business can agree to be a designated collection point for home lateral flow test kits for their staff. This requires a simple process to be in place but is very effective and easy to operate. Halton Borough Council will deliver the kits regularly to your business free of charge and offer support with setting up and managing the process – please e-mail covidtesting@halton.gov.uk if you’re interesting in signing up for this free service.
  • Community ‘no symptom’ test centres – encourage your staff and customers to use our community test centres where tests are done with the assistance of our staff. Please see our Smart ‘no symptoms’ community testing webpage for locations and opening hours.
  • Community Collect – encourage your staff and customers to collect home test kits from a range of local venues including many pharmacies – please see the map showing all participating venues - https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/. Tests are carried out at home with results uploaded to the Government’s website - https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
  • Order online for home delivery – encourage your staff and customers to order home test kits online to be delivered to their homes. Test kits can be ordered here and kits will be delivered by Royal Mail – usually arriving within two days.
