COVID-19 self-isolation support
From Thursday 24 February, you will no longer be legally required to self-isolate if you test positive for COVID-19. However, if you do test positive for COVID-19, we strongly advise that you stay at home and avoid contact with others if at all possible for up to 10 days. If you have COVID-19, you can infect other people from 2 days before symptoms start, and for up to 10 days after.
Many people will no longer be infectious to others after 5 days and you can choose to take an LFD test from 5 days after your symptoms started (or the day the test was taken if you do not have symptoms), followed by another test 24 hours later. If both test results are negative, and you do not have a high temperature, you can return to normal activities. Please continue to report any LFD results after taking each test.
If however, the tests are positive, you should continue to self-isolate until:
a. You have completed two consecutive negative tests results
OR
b. You have completed a 10 day self-isolation period and no longer have a high temperature
You will no longer be asked to take daily tests or self-isolate following contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
