Burial at a Halton Cemetery
Most people will engage a funeral director to make arrangements following the death of a loved one.
These arrangements would include purchasing an exclusive right of burial in a grave plot and arranging the burial following a funeral service. Families also have the option of making their own arrangements directly
with us.
There is a varying scale of charges relating to burials, please see our
price list.
New burial plots are available at Peel House, Runcorn and Widnes cemeteries and exclusive right of burial can be purchased at the time of need (pre-purchase is not available in our cemeteries). Halton cemetery can only accommodate burials for those who have an existing grave plot.
There are two types of burial, the traditional burial of a loved one in a full size grave or the burial of ashes following a cremation. This can be done in either a cremated remains (a smaller type of grave) for cremated remains only. Or in an existing full size grave (this may be an existing family plot) with a maximum of eight sets of cremated remains, when the grave has had, the maximum number of full burials interred.
